The customization of piston rings can generally be carried out in the following process:
Preliminary communication and requirement confirmation
Clarify requirements: Communicate fully and provide standard or non-standard dimensions, including inner diameter, outer diameter, width, thickness, etc. Detailed drawings can also be provided. If no drawings are available, samples can also be provided. We have a professional team of engineers to analyze and study them.
Mainly including:
Product specifications: Such as the type of piston rings (compression rings, oil rings, etc.), application scenarios (for compressors, excavators, automobiles, motorcycles, etc.)
Material requirements: Common piston ring materials include cast iron, steel, brass, copper, etc. Requirements for material properties, such as hardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance, can also be mentioned
Surface treatments: such as nitriding, chromium plating, phosphating, oxidation, etc. Different surface treatments can endow piston rings with different properties. For instance, nitrided rings have excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance, while phosphated rings can prevent rust and enhance initial running-in performance.
Opening clearance: Describe the form of the piston ring opening (such as hook shape, lock shape, etc.) and the specific clearance requirements.
Quantity requirements: Clearly define the customized quantity for each order, month or year.
Other special requirements: such as packaging methods, delivery times, special quality standards, etc.
