Classification of pistons
By fuel type:
Gasoline engine pistons, diesel engine pistons, natural gas pistons
By material:
Cast iron (with strong wear resistance), steel (resistant to high temperature and high pressure), aluminum alloy (lightweight and good thermal conductivity), composite materials.
Special applications: Silicon-aluminum alloy is mostly used in natural gas engines, while copper-nickel-magnesium aluminum alloy can be selected for diesel engines.
According to manufacturing process:
Gravity casting, extrusion casting, forging (commonly used in high-performance engines).
By purpose:
Special pistons for cars, trucks, ships, tanks, etc.
