Common Troubleshooting for Diesel Engines

2023-01-31

Black smoke from diesel engines is mostly caused by poor atomization of fuel injectors. The reasons may be that the air filter is clogged; the fuel injector of the single-cylinder engine is poorly atomized (the engine emits black smoke intermittently); the fuel injection atomization of the multi-cylinder engine is poor (the engine continuously emits black smoke).
Due to the harsh working conditions, the fuel injector is the most vulnerable part of the diesel engine, with the highest failure rate.

The self-smoking of the diesel engine in winter is mostly caused by the moisture in the diesel oil and the unqualified quality of the fuel used (the premise is that the engine antifreeze does not decrease, otherwise it is the fault of the engine cylinder head gasket).

Diesel engine emits blue smoke when starting. When the engine starts, there is blue smoke and it gradually disappears after warming up. This is a normal situation and is related to the cylinder clearance when the diesel engine is designed. If blue smoke keeps coming out, it is an oil burning fault, which needs to be eliminated in time.

Insufficient or reduced power after the vehicle has been used for a period of time is caused by dirty and clogged fuel filters. In particular, there is a primary fuel filter on the side of the large frame between the fuel tank and the fuel pump. Many people have not noticed it, so they have not been replaced. This is the reason why such faults cannot be ruled out.

To start a vehicle, it is often necessary to pump oil and exhaust the oil tank to the pipeline between the fuel delivery pump. There is an oil leak in the pipeline or the pipeline between the fuel delivery pump and the fuel injection pump has oil leakage.
