High-Quality Crankshaft Forgings

2026-06-02

The crankshaft is the "backbone" of an engine, directly determining the strength, lifespan, and reliability of the power core. To withstand extreme operating conditions, we apply rigorous control over materials and the entire forging process from the very start—ensuring every crankshaft forging is built with superior DNA.
1. Premium Material Selection: A Strong Foundation from the Source
We understand that material is the basis of performance. Beyond proven alloy steels like 42CrMoA, we actively use advanced non–quenched-and-tempered (microalloyed) steels such as 49MnVS3 and 48MnV. Through controlled post-forging cooling, these steels achieve the required properties without the energy-intensive, distortion-prone heat treatment of traditional grades—boosting efficiency, cutting costs, and ensuring dimensional stability and consistency.
Our internal raw-material standards far exceed industry norms, with strict limits on key fatigue-life indicators such as purity, grain size, and banded structure. All materials come from certified strategic suppliers under a dual system of technical agreement plus incoming re-inspection, eliminating risks at the source.
2. Core Process: Precision Forging for Strength and Toughness
High-strength crankshafts must use forged blanks—never machined directly from bar stock—to ensure continuous metal grain flow and optimal mechanical properties.
Precision Forming: Integral die forging and advanced RR/TR upsetting for large crankshafts achieve precise net shaping in a single operation on heavy-duty presses. Closed-die forging is widely used in volume production to maximize material utilization.
Precise Temperature Control: Oxidation-free heating throughout prevents surface decarburization, with intelligent control of start and finish forging temperatures within ±15°C for consistent quality.
Tailored Performance: We apply differentiated post-processing by material—achieving ideal microstructure in non-quenched steels through controlled cooling, and applying standardized normalizing and quenching-and-tempering to alloy steels, with careful placement throughout to minimize distortion.
3. Rigorous Inspection: Multiple Safeguards, Worry-Free Delivery
Every forging must pass our complete inspection system before release.
100% Non-Destructive Testing: Each crankshaft undergoes ultrasonic and magnetic particle inspection, screening internal and surface defects with zero blind spots to ensure internal density and a flawless surface.
Authoritative Certification: All production and quality control comply with the latest industry standards, including CB/T 4313-2013. For marine crankshafts, we offer full certification covering the ten major classification societies (CCS, DNV, ABS, LR, and more)—supporting your products worldwide from incoming inspection to final acceptance.
