The EMD 645 series is a two-stroke medium-speed diesel engine developed by Electro-Motive Division of the United States. It is specially designed for railway traction power and is also applicable to Marine power and stationary power generation devices
Core parameters
Bore and stroke: 230.2 mm bore + 254 mm stroke
Cylinder layout: V-shaped arrangement at a 45° Angle, supporting configurations such as 8-cylinder, 12-cylinder, 16-cylinder, and 20-cylinder
Displacement and power:
The 20-cylinder version has a single-cylinder displacement of 10.57L and a total displacement of 211.4L
The power ranges from 750 to 4,200 horsepower, and the peak torque of the 20-cylinder version reaches 31,500 N · m
Pressurization technology
Adopt the combination of mechanical supercharging and exhaust gas turbocharging:
When the load is low, the crankshaft gear drives the turbocharger to improve the combustion efficiency
Switch to turbocharging at high load to enhance output capacity
