Precautions For Marine Diesel Engine Fuel Injection Equipment (5-9)

2021-07-21

In the last issue, we mentioned 1-4 points of attention about marine diesel engine fuel injection equipment, and the next 5-9 points are also very important.

5) After long-term parking or after the fuel injection equipment has been disassembled, inspected and reinstalled, pay attention to the fuel injection equipment and fuel system bleed. There must be no fuel leaks anywhere in the fuel injection equipment.

6) Pay attention to the pulsation state of the high-pressure oil pipe during operation. The pulsation suddenly increases and the high-pressure oil pump makes abnormal noises, which are mostly caused by the plugging of the nozzle or the needle valve in the closed position; if the high-pressure oil pipe has no pulsation or the pulsation is weak, it is mostly caused by the plunger or the needle valve. The open position is seized or the injector spring is broken; if the pulsation frequency or intensity changes constantly, the plunger is stuck.

7) If a single-cylinder oil stop is required during the operation of the diesel engine, the oil pump plunger should be lifted using a high-pressure oil pump special oil stop mechanism. Do not close the fuel outlet valve of the high-pressure fuel pump to prevent the plunger and even parts from being blocked due to lack of lubrication.

8) Pay attention to the working conditions of the fuel injector cooling system to ensure reliable cooling of the fuel injection coil and prevent overheating. Regularly check the liquid level of the fuel injection cooling tank. If the liquid level rises, it means that there is oil leakage in the fuel injector.

9) Pay attention to the changes in the combustion process inside the tank. You can judge the working conditions of the fuel injection equipment from the abnormal changes in the color of exhaust smoke, exhaust temperature, indicator diagram, etc., and adjust accordingly if necessary.
